Just a general question. What is the difference between all the different types of thumbdrives besides being made by a well know company and memory size? Are some better then others? Confused

Speed and size. USB2 is faster. Size is obvious. They're all mostly the same imho.

They are all very similar... Some get minimal boosts in performance from different quality components / layouts, but the technology is pretty much all the same.

Just look for USB 2.0 support... something where the body is connected to the keyring (not the cap)... or better yet something with a retractable / attached cap. There are so many brands it is hard to say to look for certain ones, so just look for a good deal.

differance... looks. as long as its the same size and both USB2.0 youll never see a differance.

if that potential 1 second extra transfer time to fill the stick bothers you, you have some bigger problems than flash memory.

one thing is if they are bootable or not- not all are! this is not a big deal for most users, but i have had trouble booting off of certain models... if you are not a Linux guy or you don't do much OS work, this probably won't matter to you
