But $4 a month to fill the car... Count me in

Cheap now for the grease, but when everybody wants it, the price will rise.
there is a "bio-diesel' reprocessing business in this area.
their product (carefully filtered, cleaned and refined) costs about $4 per gallon, but construstion companies love it because spills require no enviromental cleanup by state law. Even a small diesel spill costs many thousand of dollars to cleanup, plus lost jobsite time and fines. (small spills happen all the time.)

I just drove from New York to California and saw gas prices were between 2.29 and 2.89, I saw a sign advertising for 1.49 but I had just gassed up (probably 2 miles back) and I was too lazy to get off the road to see if it really was that cheap.

The south is scary....... its an "interesting" place, where breakfast consists of two pork chops covered with cheese, onions, and mushrooms.
I don't think my arteries could survive living there

I think I saw 2.89 by my house the other day. Car Insurance + gas = Almost all of my paycheck. It's a depressing state as a teenager.

Going to san Jose,CA next week (where gas has already hit $3) car rental company is giving me a full size car for $80 less than a hyundai econobox, I figure I'll come out even on it after the gas bill.

I'm at a little over $900 a year for car insurance. Not exactly fun when you work part time at $7/hour Razz. My roller blades were getting some use in getting me to work lately, unfortunately my new job is too far away to use them to get to work. Sad

C'est la vie.

Laughing - This thread started well before gas really got ridiculous... I'd love for prices to even just go back to where they were when this thread opened! I was excited today to see all grades of gas (well regular, plus, and premium), back under $3/gallon.
