OK so I am sitting here and the thermometer in my room says 85, the news guy is saying it is going to be getting hotter and I remember last year when this room got up to 102 and I say screw that I aint doing that again. So I go to Home Depot to get a window A/C unit. So I am looking at all the different unit they have and going by room size and price I have it down to two units. One is $137 and the other is $99 both have exact same specs only difference is one has a remote control. Am I that far out of the loop? When did they start putting remote controls on A/C units? And why is the unit with the remote cheaper than the one without it when all else is the same even the manufacture? Anyway my desk now as one more remote control sitting on it and my room has gone from 86 degrees to 78 in under an hour so I guess it is all good

Did you check the efficiencies? The higher the number, the less electricity you will use, but generally more you have to pay up front. Good ones have ratings over 10.0

Yeah I checked and this one has a rating of 10.0 there were some there with higher ratings but like you said the price reflected the higher rating.
