Sit 'round children let me tell you the advantures of the WD HD that just could not.

One day I orderd a hard drive from tiger direc. It was suposed to be a brand new drive. It was 5 dollers cheaper after S&H then Newegg before S&H. ALAS! I am exited. My drive has arived for my new file server. TO my surprise what would you know. They took the liberty of removing my 'new' drive from the factory packaging for me. How convient. They even placed it so neatly in a box twice the size of the drive. How neat. With no packaging. WHAT? Ok, ok, calm down now kids. I know that is hard to balieve. Who would do such a thing. I try it out. Course does not work. I try as I might, but oh to my fright. My new friend is dead on arival. Woa is me. I contact the dealer who sold me this wretched seed. Rude on the phone. Refused to take back. For they are all oh so rude jacks. They dont know how to be polite. And they did not even say 'good night.' Now I must get back at the evile jack. EVery time I see the words 'Tiger direc' I shiver down the spine. I take a drink of wine. And I tell my wretched story hoping they will never recieve the glory that of my friends money and only their sins.

True story. Dont like them.

People have complained about TD not honoring rebates for a long time. But, I think they cleaned up their act when many of the stores were getting sued for lame rebate policies.

Back before I knew other stores (like 1990's-2000) I ordered from them all the time.

Jake Johnson,
People might take your little story a little more seriously if you did the same.

Check the ratings at www.resellerratings.com

BTW, OEM drives usually do not come with packaging (or anything for that matter) yet they are "brand new." If Tiger Direct wouldn't take it back, then you could have just sent it to the manufacturer?

Hmmmm.... Costco has the same LCD for $20 less, but I have to pay sales tax, and TD has a $50 MIR.

So it works out about $35 cheaper through TD... so the question is.... is $35 worth the risk. If there is any problems, I can return the LCD to any Costco (but of course they don't have this model in stores).

I'd go Costco myself, just because a few dead pixels would piss me off and force me to return it.... (ask BB about dead pixel issues)

Yea, that's what I'm thinking, but also Coscto doesn't carry the monitor in their stores, only online so I couldn't exchange it I would have to get a refund and re-order it.

But then again, that might be simplier than dealing with TD....

Costco online purchases can be returned to any store.
