I downloaded the 64bit driver from creative's website. There is only one version. Basically when it is installing it just behaves a little strange; the install shield comes up, etc., then it says "updating Windows Drivers", and then it doesn't ask for a directory to install into but just finishes. After the re-start there is a Creative folder in Programs but there is only one tiny file in it. The Device Manager just has a question mark where the Sound card driver should be, and when you look into it says "unknown device in PCI bus." I haven't installed anything off the cd that came with it, but then I did install EAX Console also from Creative's site (the 64bit one). I didn't know if I needed that or not but it installed fine. Can't get the driver to work though, tried repeatedly. Has anyone had experience with 64bit Windows and the Audigy 2ZS, and how did you make it work?
thanks in advance. |

Have you hit MS's windows update site? It's possible they have a correct driver for it there. It worked for me on x64 on my ATi motherboard.
I also did some searching around and found that some were able to use the beta drivers ok, but not the productions one. Here's a link to the beta drivers: http://download.creative.com/files/drivers-amd64-041805.zip |

I don't know about those or how to fix them.
I did call creative today though. They had me run a driver uninstall program that is with the creative drivers then clear out the temp files, configure the startup to have minimal programs running, re-boot, install driver, etc. It recognized the sound card and the game port, but still not the firewire port. More importantly though, still no sound. I've double checked the speaker setup even though I know it's right. I'm going to try again tomorrow with Creative to see if they can help. It's just frustrating me now.
thanks. _________________ Lian Li PC-6077B

Might seem like a silly question but, are you using the new 64-bit version of Windows? If not, there is a warning that it will not work with any previous versions.
