i didnt know whether to put this in hardware area or software but its a little of each area. i just built a buddy a

amd 64 3200+
gig corsair xms xpert (wow i want this stuff in mine now)
gigabyte k8 triton nforce4 ultra board
bfg pcie 6600gt
and a seagate 120gig barracudda 700.7

so anyrate. i have windows installed bla bla bla... but everytime i log onto the cimputer the "safely remove hardware" thing shows up, ive installed all of the updates hopin that would fix something for no reason (its windows after all) everything is fine in the device manager. The thing it wants to remove though is the fuggen hdd! wtf did i do wrong?? its only a single drive... to get windows to recognize it though i had to put it in a raid setup (raid 0 "striping") how would i undo the raid?? i know nothing of raid, most of all though i just wanna get rid of the rmove hardware wizard. any ideas, sorry if this is kinda rambling on its 2am now......

Laughing Everything is working just fine. It just ALLOWS you to stop/remove devices it ID's as removable devices. You can't get rid of it. You can HIDE it if you want, but it's always going to be there.

You'll have to make sure that the 'Hide Inactive Icons' is checked in the Taskbar menu. After that, don't click it for a long time and it will eventually become hidden.

Right click on the tool bar -> click properties -> click the customize button -> find the "safely remove hardware" icon/test click on it and choose "always hide"
