PlayStation Sales Halted?

Narf Narf writes "According to Japan Today, the U.S. District Court in Oakland, California, has ordered Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and its U.S. unit to pay $90.7 million in damages to Immersion Corp. for patent infringement over controllers used with PlayStation game consoles. In the ruling handed down Thursday, the federal court also ordered Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Entertainment America Inc. to stop selling the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 game consoles using Dualshock controllers as well as more than 40 game software products." Yikes

I bet you that the price for those games and the play station 2s with dual shock controllers will rise on ebay.

If they aren't allowed to sell them anymore, then the price will go up at auction.

Sony will probably work out a licensing deal now. They rolled the dice they could get away with it with out paying... the lost so they'll most likely working out a deal

fook, my ps2 just died, now I have to wait until they make a ps3 which should be backwards compatable or go out and pay extra for a ps2.

bah I'll just go get one used from gamestop for $100

no they are still selling the ps2's... they are still going to be allowed to sell them but they just have to pay major royalties... so dont be scared to buy another ps2... they'll be comin out yet for a hwile in the US neways

I wish I had an xBox but I allready have a bunch of games for the PS2 so it would be a wate not to be able to play them anymore
