Maybe all of my contacts and settings are on the web, I don't know... But, I want to install Trillian on a new PC, but don't want to have to re-configure everything. Can I export settings to take with me and make this easier?

Confused

I THINK just about all the IM services store your buddy lists on their servers now so all you have to do is log into your account and your buddy list will be there for you. That is how it worked for me last time if I remember right anyway.

That's it exactly...

Install, log in, everything comes back.

With previous versions of trillian all I did was install it and then copy the old directory on top of the installation, but I don't know if it still works with V.3 All the contacts were there. I think back then ICQ was the only one that didn't store your buddy lists, but I don't know if they are doing it now...

Quick word about Trillian and folders. Yes you now can login to all 4 services and everything's on the server, but if you made folder changes (moving contacts around in directories you make) they don't always translate back to the server. I've re-installed trillian only to find all my organization was dead and gone and I had to re-order everyone into their proper folders.

Here's what I always do:

1 - Install Trillain
2 - Log into all IM's
3 - Close Trillain
4 - Copy my old directories over

I have a LONG time worth of logs in my Trillain folders..... (I know what you b@stards say about me.... I have proof..... die die die.... )
