*AT WORK NEED HELP* CUSTOMERS COMP

im at work (circuit city) and i have an older hp and im getting and im getting a beep code prior to post... 3-1-4-3 and nothing starts up...

help lol... iver searched everywhere online and could only find one thing and it said something about autotype 38e whatever that means i was unable to find nething else. any help is appreciated i think they said they were leaving it overnight here.

start pulling items individually and see if the beeps change

what did the customer say they did before it died? or let me guess.... it worked and then they went to start it yesterday and then it stopped working?

i pulled all the cards i could and nothing changed at all.. i pulled memory changed the battery, everything... im starting to think that the mobo is fried....

she recently just called i told her its prolly shot and that theres nothing that i can do...

how it broke was her kid was taking it apart cause he thought that something was wrong... what i dont know... but when he put it back together this is what it was doing... my guess its fried...

lol i just remembered before they brough it in they called and i had spoke to them...

they said that the kid took it apart and that the memory was wrong now or something... i asked if they just took it out or if it was in wrong or something... shes like he totally pulled it out... i said what do you mean the black part it sits in? she said yea lol.... so i was thinking smooth the kid pulled the entire dimm outta the board hehe... luckily that wasnt the case... i just thought it was funny...

Have a spare proc to put in? Would at least narrow down to board since you switched everything out.

Tested PSU?

Tried Video Card?

I'm sure you already tried that, but just clearifying Smile

thats what i thought it would be... we flushed the bios and cache before i left but nothing yet... im going to call her and tell her its shot

they werwe both not really the brightest people out there.... the mother was one of those people who seems like it wouldnt matter what youd do and she wont get mad.... thats the way it seemed to me
