Out of nowhere, the mighty Vortigern was gelded a couple days ago.

Little background:
Shuttle SN95G5
A64 3800+
1GB Corsair PC3200XLPro
x800 XT
74GB Raptor

System worked perfectly the last few months, stock speed.

off of a sudden, on either windows or on a linux live cd no USB devices register properly, and any PS2 mouse will not register right and move properly (or at all)

I really dont wanna throw down on a new mobo, but I was wondering if this could possibly be a IRQ out of left field? I've resetting settings back to defaults to no avail. Before I bite the bullet and buy another sn95g5 anyone think of anything to try?

Try disabling EVERYTHING onboard in BIOS.

If that does nothing, flash the BIOS and try again...

tell us what happens!!!

^^ do what spire said...also try using all the things that crapped out in a different system its un likely that all those things would happen at once but its worth a shot...and as a last hope try a different psu.

Ok, this one has me scratching my head.

After no response from Shuttle, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase another sn95g5 and just put off my next upgrade. I had received my last upgrade earlier in the week, KVM cables to move my server and a linksys gigabit switch to upgrade the home network.

So last night, I'm moving stuff around, I end up relocating both my server and my Shuttle box. I plug everything in (Cause though the PS2 and all that wasn't working on the shuttle, it was still folding fine) and settle in to make some config changes on the server. I wanted to test my KVM switch to make sure everything got plugged in the right slot, including audio...

Sure enough, the Shuttle is now working.....Same cables, same slot on the KVM, the ONLY thing that changed AT ALL during this whole thing that I hadn't done before was unplugging power from the Shuttle to move it. Went and turned everything back on in the BIOS (on board audio, IDE channels, parallel port etc...) and it now works like a champ again. I really can't explain it. At least I gots me an upgraded BIOS out of the whole thing....

Now though, I rush back to see if newegg shipped my order, and sure enough, they shipped it 6 hours earlier. I now got a SN95G5 on the way I don't need, and will have to send back and pay the restocking fee etc.....

I call it a dumba$$ tax upon me for not trying EVERYTHING in fixing the issue, though the USB is still a little off......could be the drivers for that
