Well... the site didn't go down, but maybe that would be the best for us... The server obviously can't handle it... Bang Head

Yes... I have sent each of those Geeks.com Tech Tips over, just to see if any would get on, but more importantly, if the site could handle it (always waited until nothing else was new here).

Lesson learned... site can't take it! Would probably need more CPU and Memory. Or maybe 100% static html for those types of things.

There are now more people than ever connected, but the server seems to be moving at full speed! Anyone else getting a good connection despite the 700+ online? WTF

Hello all. Brand new to the forum and site as of today.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can only access the forum section of your site.
I wanted to read the article comparing CRT's and LCD's from the link in a post, but the page times out in IE6 and Firefox.
I tried to access it from a link in another forum and get the same result.
Is this due to server overload, or do I need to adjust settings somewhere?
Looking forward to visiting.

Paul

Ummmm edit: Update, I discovered that ZA considers your site one big banner/pop-up ad. So I changed settings and the page loaded fine.

hi ups4... welcome! Disappointing to hear about Zone Alarm giving us the black flag... Although there are obviously banners, there should never ever be a single pop up!!

I know some software gets upset when a site is serving images not hosted on the site, which is the case with the ads here. I get issues like that at work where the firewall is REALLY tight and won't allow that kind of jazz...

Not sure why you can't get to it here, but its reposted at the Geeks.com

http://geeks.com/pix/techtips-121604.html

I think traffic is extremely high right now, but I could get to the article no problem.

Thanks Spire,

But I did get to see the article.
Turns out I needed to adjust my ZA Ad Blocking settings to get it to work. Everything is cool now.
