Was changing a radiator and some water leaked onto my 9600. All seemed ok at the time, and I have had it off for a week drying and then leak testing while the system was off.

Well, fired it up tonight and the stench came out, but no video signal... Switched in a different card and all was fine.

But, now I need a new card! What should I look at? I don't want to spend much right now, and really don't need major performance. Wish I could find a Volari V5... Grin

But, any suggestions? or trades?

I could replace it for $94... http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-305&depa=1

Upgrade, is this your main system? If it is, get a 6800 or just get a 9600 XT or whatever.

The main system only has a 9600XT, and my other cards on hand are a GeForce4 MX440 and Voodoo 3 3000 (which now fits no mobo). Laughing - Vid cards are not my thing, I guess.

I would love a huge power card... but I am not spending 3-4 bills on one!

Sappahire is the work of Satan...

If you want a cheapie: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=316018&pfp=BROWSE
$59.99 $0.01 shipping, and if your so inclined a $20MIR.

Or if you're in to real good deals and trust MIR's...
http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=310589&pfp=BROWSE
9600XT - $129.99 + $0.01 Shipping, & $70 in MIR's

I was thinking 550 was a good budget card... But, only $59 at the geeks with no rebate!

Hmmm... I'd lean towards the Compusless one (unless there was enogh in taxes to make a diff), becuase at the same price w/o MIR, if you do the MIR on the Useless one you actually get it for $40 instead of $60

I am headed to Best Buy! They have a BFG 5500 OC on sale for $79.99, then a $20 MIR. Plus, I have a 10% off coupon, and a gift card to use!
