OK, its a known issue that the P4E Prescott core runs very hot! The sample I had before ran around 45'c at idle and over 55'c under load.
This one runs at 32'c idle and 33~34'c under load.........at least that's what MBM5 sez. BIOS reads 27'c (while the MB reads 28'c).
I have the latest BIOS installed (v3.6 dated 10/28/04), that is supposed to correct the "incorrect" diode readings.
Memtest shows no errors on my Cosair Cl 2 PC3200 DDR (2x 512meg dual channel))
This is with a Spark 7 cooler/Artic Silver 5.
Now, when I try to play ANY games, after a few minutes (10~20) it freezes up, forcing a reboot.

Well, after posting this last nite I decided to try and play a game again (Cossacks...not even a demanding 3D game) and had to reboot. However, this time, it brought up MSI's "Core Logic" (their built into the mobo, BIOS utility). Everything went into stock settings, all memory timings, boot sequence, lost the RAID aray (the aray is really still there...just not in the boot process).............
Any ideas? _________________ Two wrongs don't make a right!

MOBO is: http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/product_detail.asp?model=875P_NEO-FISR
All current drivers/BIOS. PSU is new also: TruePower 550w
It will boot up (at stock config), but last night I had to change BIOS settings to detect RAID.....this morning when I started it.....it did'nt see the 2 opticle drives.........
Looks like ANOTHER RE-build.........just as well, I plan on ordering that Koolance EXOS AL on the 15th when I get this next bonus.
Not sure that will cure the issues that are going on tho................... _________________ Two wrongs don't make a right!

I have been playing around this BIOS several times......I can get the RAID working, but loose the Opticle drives--or--Get the Opticle drives, then loose the RAID!
and a few thrown in!! _________________ Two wrongs don't make a right!

Just a guess, but Many optical drives are seen (by the system) as SCSI, as are many RAID arrays even though they're all actually on an ATA interface (SATA or IDE)
I'm thinking a driver or resource conflict |
