Unplug machine, short the CMOS jumper, pull the battery, wait a few minutes, put it all back to normal. Make sure when you turn it on the first time to go into BIOS and make sure everything is set up correctly, save and exit, see if it boots normally.
On a related subject, since I started automatically replacing the CMOS battery before even booting the first time on every machine I build, I have improved my sucess rate 10 fold. I no longer have alot of strange issues that I used to have.
It's just a theory I have, but the battery in a new motherboard could be quite old. I can get them at the grocery store for under 3 bux, I figure its well worth it.
This too could be just an old Spiretale, so... |
