Well using a WiFi in a heavily populated area, where they have a lot of different WiFi networks can be a royal pain in the a$$ at best.
Not only do you have to deal with the other AP's, but you have to deal with things like Cordless phones (both operate on the 2.4Ghz spectrum). Even at my house when the phone rings it will sometimes disconnect mine or my wifes laptops from the network until you hang up. I'm looking to change the phone to a 5.8Ghz system to get around this. However in a dense mutil-tenet unit you have no control over this.
In your clients case, I might consider something like Ethernet-to-Powerline (check out a list of them here: http://www.homeplug.com/products/index.asp) where you can run the ethernet over the in house wiring. Preformance isn't outstanding but it will solve a lot of your problems and should give good enough performance for most usages.[/url] |
