I have no experience with either, but JimBowy reviewed the Xtrac Ripper which I think is just a different size from the Hammer...

The ripper is a pretty cool pad, but it is cloth and sometimes caused a lot of friction between the mouse nad the pad. If the Hammer is also cloth, I'd say stay away from it. Right now I'm using a Everglide Richochet Pad that I absolutely love!

I love my Steelpad 4S, but I haven't used those two so I can't compare.

After seriously consideration (ainy mainy miny Mo) I bought the Ratzpad. I am very happy with my choice, at first the pad was rought and my mouse didnt want to glide; then i rubbed it with some vasoline, like it was recommended and my mouse glides. At times my mosue movement will lag behind, but i think that has to do somethin with my optical mouse.

Thank you all for you replies.

sometimes the lag-like issues can be caused when the opticals temporarily lose tracking on the surface
