Why do so many of the new 800MHz fsb'ed P4 motherboards only support up to ATA-100? I don't understand it... Some do have S-ATA onboard, which might be nice, but others don't have that or ATA-133 support... Confused

Yeah, I know what you mean, noramlly you have to pay the big bucks for the ATA-133 supported P4 motherboards. I saying that I haven't seen many motherboards that support it all, apart from a couple of performance motherboard companies like Chaintech and the like.

How long has ATA-133 been out for, maybe the companies are about to launch some new motherboards designs that were delayed, or maybe it was easier to fit them on AMD technology...

Who knows to be honest...you have intrigued me to research into this Smile

Speak to you soon Big Bruin!

ATA-133 has been around for at least a year or two, wait, maybe more... My last few boards were all ATA-133, and not particularly high-end boards. I know the Iwill XP-333R board I have is at least from late 2001 and it has it...

Seemed like a standard offering on all boards until these recent 800MHz fsb'ed 865 and 875 P4 boards came out...
