Its been too quiet. Share any of your stories.
Being here in Michigan the worst natural disaster we might experience is an ice storm. Laughing

Sandy pretty much ran out of wind by the time she reached the Canadian border.

I know our fearless leader doesn't have power and has a lot to clean up.

Nothing here in Iowa. While we don't get Hurricanes, we get Tornado's, seemingly yearly floods or droughts and massive blizzards sometimes. Not had anything like this for a long while though.

I think Modulok is probably affected. I haven't seen him on Diablo 3 since the storm rolled in.

The only damage I had was a broken window in one of my storm doors.

Yeah, NJ got hit pretty hard. It's much worse in South & Central NJ, but it was still very windy and knocked out power all over the state. There are tons of trees down, utility poles snapped in half, flooding around the coast and much more that I haven't seen. I only went out Wednesday to work and back. In the am I didn't see any signs of power (no traffic lights working), but by the time I came home I saw a small strip on a small highway that was powered. So it will come back slowly.

Knight, I actually am fine, the only thing happened to me is the cable tv/internet went out at 10:30pm Monday. My street has power, but it doesn't look like the rest of my community was as lucky. The word is 7-10 days for power to be restored. I am using my cell phone tethered to my computer when I need it. At least I have good cell coverage at my home. (some areas are completely dead, and sometimes text msgs are the only things that work)

My office has been out since 7pm Monday, and we are closed until power/internet/phone lines are restored. I went in on Wednesday with a few people to get some things shipped out. We had 3 generators for lights and to get some of our servers up for a few hours.

Gas is another problem. There are very few gas stations with power. Some are only cash with the internet being out at some places. People who have generators were out trying to fill up their gas cans, there were actually lines down the street probably up to 1/4 mile at least, maybe even a 1/2 mile long. Some people parked their cars, and walked up with their gas cans. I actually saw a line of people with red cans in each hand.

Tuesday I walked in the woods with my neighbor. The trails he has been clearing are a mess. I will post some pictures of downed trees in the woods

It is going to be a long time before things are somewhat normal.

FYI, I am 5'10". That one root stump was twice my height. There were trees knocked over like dominoes. One into another.

Was dumping my phone my memory out and decided to post some of my mess! I still have most of the big trees laying down, and probably 6 of the 8 that fell uprooted themselves...

The crazy one is this perhaps 60 foot tall tree that created a root base that stands up about 12 feet tall now... But it is barely a foot deep! How did this thing last so long?!?

Luckily everything fell away from the house / driveway so clean up is mostly about getting the mid to small stuff out of the way!
