Last Saturday I was cooking, and chopping some garlic when I decided I need to chop some of me instead. Took my finger nail almost completely off and some "meat" with it. Didn't hurt too bad at the time, I keep my knifes SHARP, but I bleed like a stuck pig. 
I finally changed the bandage that the nurse put on it on Sunday... so I figured I'd capture the moment... It's pretty "gory" so don't click the link if you can't deal with that (that is why I linked it instead of attaching it)

HA! Not at your misfortune, really, but I lost a fingernail the day after my birthday! On Feb 18th I got my finger smashed between a dumpster and a wall... More blood squirting and sloshing than I had ever seen.

Not so much at the time... the next day it was really sore... not it's bothersome, and only really hurts when I hit it on something.  |
