Hey guys, I'm in Linux and need Windows Media Codecs so I can play some of my videos in Xine. Now that I'm 100% Windows-free I can't just grab them from my /mnt/Windows/ dir anymore Razz

Thanks for the help! Wave

Dumb question, maybe: Are there special ones released for Linux? Can you just get the onew off the MS site?

Yeah I am a little confused here myself, ok a lot confused. Are you saying that the codecs from my WinXP install will work in your Linux box?

Big Bruin: I highly doubt it.

Dadx2mj: Yes, they work in Linux. That's how I did it before when I did a dual boot...

yeah, it's great! Xine has an option specifically for my case - an option for a directory in which to store your Win32 codecs.
