I paid for this personally - and it works great. The free version being given away is the full version, but you get no updates and no tech support. They do update this every few weeks to months with refinements and support for new disc technology... But even if you stayed at the current level you should be able to rip almost all DVDs in to tons of formats with ease. |

They gave away the Blu-Ray one a couple years ago, so at this rate you will get a free update every couple of years  |
