Intel Core ix

catching up on all the new chipsets and looking for suggestions and helpful information when looking at the Intel Core ix chips. Is the i7 or i5 the chip to go with?

Or just do i just go with the i7 and the fastest that the budget will handle?

I am looking to put this on a ASUS P7P55D-E.

If I was looking to build one, I'd probably go with the i5 2400. Fairly low cost and a lot of performance out of it.

But, now I have to wait a few weeks on a replacement board to solve the (potential) SATA issues. Board works fine, just want to replace it since they offered for free.

That said - I still prefer the performance of my Socket 1366 i7 system.

It isn't bad, but I wouldn't get it again. Kinda boring in the extra feature department. But, it was cheap and it does support fast memory and decent overclocking.

Had a Biostar board first that had tons of cool features, but the memory only went to 1333MHz (despite MicroCenter saying it went to 2200MHz)... so they took it back.

You can rarely go wrong with ASUS - That is what I have for my i7, and it is great.

Let us talk about Ram for a moment. Right now looking at DDR3-1600 and I am looking at these two. The only different I see is the voltage. Is a higher voltage better? Is there something that I am missing here?

Now we are going to continue the fun with video cards. Here are the 2 that I am looking at, suggestions would be helpful. Would like to keep it under 200 and maybe around 150. I would like to have dual DVI ports. Appears this board has 2 PCIE 2.0 x 16 slots. Should I look to obtain 2 cards?

Hard Drive. While the board supports 6.0Gb/s, based on the directions for the Mac install you can not use that for the install. So that is why I am looking at this HD, also the current deal.
