I got amolex extension and switched the two rails over. The idea was to run my 120mm fan at 5v, thus making it quieter (this it does quite well). The fan is one apass thorough... which was connected to my hdd.
I've ordered an identical new one, and i hope that if i swap the controlllers i'll be able to recover at least some of the data.
Lol wow thats pretty freakin awesome. it would have been slightly cooler had your hdd disk turned into a frisbee of death. but pop fizzile is coole none the less. _________________ Ignore this^^
Burn a hole through the chips? One of the techs here at work brought me a HD that he thought was bad. Looked at the bottom of it and two of the chips were BURNT! He laughed said the user that tried to replace it plugged in the cable backwards...
WTF! How do you do that?
His response: No idea, the guy said the cable wouldn't fit so he shoved it on.

There are some nice marks, when the camera's charged i'll put up a photo. The stupid this was, i plugged it in, though "this doesn't seem right", paused for a couple of seconds and pressed the power switch anyway!
