Definitely not a feature that I was happy to find on my computer, especially since it is the browser our school has switched to on every single PC in the network.
(I didn't want to make another topic about FireFox, So I apologize about the off-topicless) |
It's not a problem if you have individual accounts on a computer, which in an "ideal" world should be the case.
Unfortunately, no one I know lives there...
But like the good Dr. said, you should never let FF save your passwords on a public computer. I set up a kiosk for web browsing running firefox and Linux, and I had the settings set to never save anything, passwords, cache, etc, owned by root, so that no one could change it. If your school IT dept. was smart, they would have done the same thing. _________________ It's got something to do with motherboards and fuzzy logic, f**k, I don't know... |

I don't
I'm just worried about all the students who are either unbelievably lazy or too computer illiterate to think of the ramifications. It would be a much larger-scale problem at my school if more individuals knew about it, because I can check the computer I'm on at any given day and see a myspace or yahoo e-mail account password saved on the computer. Currently working with my Networking Teacher to have something done about it. |

As an update to the stats I posted before... Linux has now passed Mac for #2 on the top OS list. But a new entry has me intrigued... What is HPUX? It is almost as popular as OpenBSD, and slightly higher than IRIX for visitors to the site! IRIX?
