My current system has 2x 120 gig Sata drives in raid 0, partitioned into a 20 gig, and 200 gig partitions. I've been suffering from alot of problems after moving my computer. Which I believe is due to a broken processor. After running really bad for about a week, I got the dreaded BSOD and when I rebooted I get the message that blah blah was corrupt, please reinstall windows or use the repair function. I'm planning on getting a DFI NFII Infinity Ultra and a Mobile 2400+ and just relace the whole thing. Will I be able to transfer over the hard drives that were in RAID on the Asus A7N8X deluxe or do I have to reload my OS again, and backup what I can before I move the hard drives to the new motherboard?

The RAID was onboard or a PCI card? You may be hosed is it was onboard, and you wind up moving to a different RAID controller (or no RAID at all). That said, I did move a RAID 0 array from a Silicon Image controller to a Promise controller with no problem...

I would recommend backing up all the important stuff, as it may be hit or miss.

Or, keep the same RAID config by keeping the PCI card (if that was the case), or by getting a board with the same RAID controller onboard.

Yea, moving HDD's to a different RAID controller is iffy. You just never know if it will or won't work.

However, I would suggest you back up your data and just re-install. It's MUCH cleaner that way.

I have sucessfully transferred a RAID 0 set from a SIL 3112 (A7N8X) to a SIL3114 (DFI).

HOWEVER: make sure that drive 1 stays drive 1 and drive 2 stays 2.

Also, as the others have said, this will be hit or miss. For that matter, you may have already corrupted beyond repair.

Get what you can onto another drive or meduim and give it a shot.

Let us know how it goes.

Aight, thanks for the quick responses. I'm tying to get a floppy now of the drivers, but nobody has floppy drives anymore. *sigh*
