Here is the ram I have:

2 - 1 Gig DDR 2700
2 - 512Mb DDR 3200
3 - 512mb DDR 2700

In the AMD 64, I have the 2 - 1 Gig DDR 2700

In the AMD 2500 Barton, I have 2 - 512md DDR 3200

Would it be better to move the 3200 ram to the 64, and the 2 gig to the barton?

Or install the 512mb ddr 2700's in the barton?

The A64 will most benefit from the PC3200. It's designed to run on a 200mhz(400mhz DDR)(PC3200) base clock and full memory bus bandwidth.

The 2500 Barton is 166mhz(333mhz), which only needs PC2700 if you aren't overclocking it via FSB.

knight0334 has got it right. Some differences may apply depending what your planing on doing. If you just need 2gig for some reason on one system than yeah go for it but otherwise go with knight0334's suggestion.

The A64 (with 2 gig 2700 DDR) is MAINLY used for gaming Smile Sometimes I do web design, photoshop, mp3 encoding, etc. But MOSTLY for games Smile

The 2500 Barton (with 1 Gig 3200 DDR) is used to do newsgroups, dvd encoding, dvd ripping, video editing, dvd burning, mp3 encoding, and sometimes games (I love games)

Neither machine is overclocked (yet). Never done any overclocking, but always get the best processors for overclocking...just not done it LOL

I'd go with knight's suggestions still. Your games and photoshop and other programs on your 64 shouldn't need 2 GB I think faster is better on that machine. Now best idea is to get 2 gig of 3200 DDR. You could give me hte mem you don't need anymore :0

I would use the 3200 in the Athlon64. Faster RAM for the faster system.
