I wonder what state will be next?

I can see Florida banning the death penalty. It seems once a month at least I hear something on the news about the death penalty being inhumane Rolling Eyes

I would say NJ politicians are bigger losers than in most states. First of all, for getting rid of this... And second, for wasting their time on this when much more important things need to be addressed. No one has been executed here since 1963, why the sudden need to ban it? It's not like there is a traffic jam at the electric chair, or something.

How about sneaking those few death row inmates through before the law goes into effect and saving the tax payers from having to feed and shelter them for the next several decades? If I am not mistaken, tax payers love saving money!

The death penalty isn't a deterrent. Just like a trash can isn't a deterrent to making trash, but eventually you have to take out the trash. The death penalty is just taking out of the trash.

When one does the thing(s) needed for the Death Penalty it shouldn't be seen as inhumane. Their actions before such a powerful sentence is what's inhumane. Getting rid of such consequences is a slap in the face to the families hurt by those people.

it would be a deterrent if they didn't wait 30+ years to fry someone...flip that switch!
