I'm rebuilding my file server since Ultra Products picked me to win one of their Aluminus cases (woohoo!) last week and I want to use a pair of 250g drives I bought from woot 3 months ago. They're Caviar drives from Seagate and are IDE interface. Since it's a file server, I obviously want to do a fault-tolerant raid array (raid 1, in the case) and would prefer to do this with a hardware solution.
Has anyone used the "SiI06080A UDMA/133 IDE Raid Controller PCI Card" with windows 2000 server (I actually have a license)? Any recommendations on another card that is inexpensive and known to function with Win2k Server? |

I used that card under XP and it was solid, too. I think I sold it to someone on here, too... |
