I have had instability problems for quite some time now in my PC. I had unfortunately gotten used to it and did not run programs like F@H because they would eventually freeze the OS. Well, I figured out the problem and I have to say that I'm one of the worst geeks in existence.

Why? Well, I had put in a Hercules Fortissimo 7.1 in my mobo a while ago so I could do some more recording. It never was recognized by my hardware and I worked on that problem for a few days. Being the moron I am, I totally forgot about it. Bang Head

Now that I pulled the card I have no more artifacts, F@H is running faster and I haven't crashed once in a few days! I figure I'll get the card running when I get a better motherboard with DDR.

I have that same sound card... why didn't it work for you? What OS? Mine worked like a champ right out of the box...

I don't know exactly why it didn't work. I use WinXP Pro (legit). I have an older motherboard, though, so I think that's the problem. I had installed the card in another machine and it worked beautifully...

Oh well. Back to my trusty (and lovely) Turtle Beach Santa Cruz for now.
