Just signed up for Optimum Online's Speed Boost. Speed will go all the way up to 30 Mbps down / 2 Mbps up!
$9.95 more per month (after the first month free) and it includes lots of other cool stuff... Like they unblock all the ports (they currently block port 25 / 80) and actually help you set up a home mail / web server if you want. They throw you some more e-mail addresses on their domain, and they give you a domain name of your choice.
Not sure when the boost starts, but I'm excited for it! |

Update - I just maxed out the speed test at Speak Easy:
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
Download Speed: 10518 kbps (1314.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
It pegged the needle and I think it went faster than that. Need a bigger meter! |

I agree with the rest... FU!
I'm actually considering going to wireless. We have a local provider, that will give me 2.5Mbps down, and 1Mbps up. Better than the 1.5/1Mbps I have now for the same price. |
