About as non-n00b as I wanted to go was Debian. I installed 2.2 r5 on a PII system and it wasn't hard, but I did have to figure out how to set up X and the window manager I wanted and all that stuff by myself. |
Oh no... an OS snob...

I just don't like stuff that's bogged down with user freindly junk.
I'm posting this from RedHat 9 BTW... _________________ Due to a not-that-interesting turn of events, I am now known as Justin Danger. |

Well, I don't want anything right now. I don't want to spend anything until I sell a few more things.
I'll remember the offer though! _________________ Due to a not-that-interesting turn of events, I am now known as Justin Danger. |

I installed RH8 as a dual boot and it's great. I need the N00b interface as I'm a linux N00b myself. Learning slowly though. I can now mount hard drives, get apache and php working, got samba working (still trying to figure out how to speficy custom shares?!). Later on I want to get into more complex stuff like DNS routing and stuff like that. Basically set it up like a host would with cpanel and all. _________________

Hi crazydude...
What exactly is the question? WinXP or Office XP? Not sure I understand fully...
Is this related to this Linux thread? |
