Yes there is a good bit of room for cable management behind the side panel, at least as much as every other case we've looked at that is setup this way.
You could flip the hard drives around so that the cables were hidden but you'll need to keep 2 things in mind:
1) there is a small lip that "holds" the drive in place that would have to be either bent down or removed. There's just no way to attached the drive cables with it there.
2) The main portion of the drive sled just about butts up to the side panel. There is a small cutout where you could run the cables, (the void is left from bending that material up to make the lip I mentioned above) so you'd have to have it run down through that channel. Again, if you removed that lip with a Dremel, you should be fine. _________________
