Quicktext 0.9.10.1 Add on Not Working on Thunderbird 3.1.2

So - I use Quicktext 0.9.10.1 on all my machines (Windows 7) as a Thunderbird add on. It works just fine on most, and I just updated to Thunderbird 3.1.2 on another machine and the add on is listed as being incompatible. I know that is BS since it is working fine on three other machines. Tried uninstalling and re-installing and that didn't help. Then I removed all other add ons to make sure there wasn't a conflict - no help.

Any ideas why it would be listed as incompatible on this system, when it works fine on others?

OK - of course I have battled this for a few days - make a post here - and then find a way to fix it minutes later.

Downloading from this site and not Mozilla is all it took:

Still doesn't explain why it didn't work with the official download...
