How did you meet your significant other?

For those of you who have found someone to share a part of your life with, how did you two meet? Were you attracted right away?

For me, I met my girlfriend at work. I thought right away that she was cute when she introduced herself. I was just starting another relationship with another girl, and I'm not the sort of guy to cheat or see multiple girls, so I didn't act on it. That is, until that relationship just fell apart before it really began (being somewhat of a long-distance one didn't help). It hurt bad for a few weeks, but I quickly got over it probably because that relationship was pretty much still in its infancy.

So about two months pass from that point, and "Marcia" (we'll call her that), the girl from work, and I have similar work schedules. We pass some of the time just shooting the breeze, and I come to think that's she's actually a pretty sweet and intelligent individual with a great sense of humor. I'm starting to like her.

Then out of nowhere, I decide to get her a special gift for Valentine's Day, which she enjoyed.

A week later, I ask her out. She says yes, saying that it'll be fun! Yeah, three false starts (all with valid excuses), but when we did go out, we did have fun! Batting cages and ice skating. I feel like I've learned a lot, and I love it. I decide our third date needs to be special. I plan dinner, ice cream, a walk on the beach, and a movie at the drive-in theater.

Though, I couldn't wait. Two days before that night, I ask her if she wants to go steady. She's so happy and says yes. We didn't realize until later that we decided this just after midnight on April 1st (anniversaries will be fun), but we're both excited for what lies ahead!

We have a great time that special night, and she invites me over after work many times just to hang out and enjoy each other's company. We make each other happy and comfortable, and I see no end to it. It is glorious!

Er, oops. I did just ask for how you met and I gave nearly the whole story. Anyway, share your stories!

Hubby was my bail bondsman. I didn't have enough money for bail so I did "favors" for him. Odly enough he moonlights as a parole officer ... guess how I make my monthly parole fee/fine. The rest is history ..................... what ??? Wink
