The XDM's have adjustable backstraps, and include I believe 3 with purchase.

The XDM's are an improved version of the XD's. I was so-so impressed with the XD's, but I'm very impressed with the XDM's.

knight0334......Thanks for the come back. I'd be happy with the 12+1 config. Smile

BeerCheeze.....Might give it a look, the only Springfields I ever owned were long guns (miss my M1A Nat'l Match big time! Sad ). Wink

Definitely check out the XD/XDM's. You might want to check out the Taurus 24/7 series too. Dont sell yourself completely without checking out all the options.

While I do believe the Walther P99 is a superior gun, its price is up a bit to match. And, components like magazines and spare parts are much harder to find and more expensive.

Interesting you mentioned Taurus........my wife has a 9mil Millennium Pro and loves it. Back in the day I sold firearms Taurus had "turned the corner" and had no trouble suggesting them as a "inexpensive" option. I'll have a look at the 24/7 especially if it has the back strap option! Wave

I cant remember for sure if the 24/7 has that feature.. I might be confusing it with another gun.

S&W makes a mutant of the Walther P99, its called the SW99 series(SW990 and a couple other models). The SW99 uses same mags as the Walther P99. They also have the M&P series that has interchangeable palmswelles or backstraps.

Being a "prancing horse" fan think the S&W part is out of the question! Laughing

I like Colts too, but S&W does make good guns. I despise the Sigma series because of the triggers, but the rest of their stuff is good hardware.

Hell, I hate all semi's, but I still own 3 of them. My other 7 handguns are all revolvers except one derringer.

Yeah my snake was a eight that changed to a 4 for carry and then reworked for PPC service revolver. Also to help make bills after my father's death I sold a 3rd gen New Frontier in 44 special that he left me. Bang Head
