When I first read, it sound to me like a good hoax. It still might be a hoax, but I personally tend to believe it even though it is strange...VERY STRANGE:

Come on....really? I guess if it is already dead it isn't going to hurt but I can't imagine there is enough solder around those tiny points to melt and reconnect since I didn't do the soldering.

I would never try something like that, u may end up damaging more hardware.

I KNOW for a fact this works with the X-Box 360 IF you do it right...too much and it's toast. Too little and it does no good. So this doesn't surprise me that it could work.

My 7900GS died on me and I'm waiting for its replacement (another used 7900GS). When that replacement dies on me again, I will definitely try this...
