I have to say I never saw this processor before, but it looks like a great deal for the specifications. In store only at Micro Center - http://www.microcenter.com/

$189.99

• Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor E8400
• 3.00GHz, 6MB L2 Cache
• 1333MHz Front Side Bus
• Retail box
• Includes heatsink and fan
• 3-year Manufacturer limited warranty
• Built on new 45 nanometer technology

Like an e6850 but with more cache... and almost $100 less. PriceGrabber shows one for $214 elsewhere.

Can't seem to find it on their site Sad

Don't feel like driving 30 miles to find out if it's in stock....did you get that in an email?

Yeah. The e-mail came in just minutes before I posted that on Saturday. I wish I needed a CPU as I would have gone to get one of these.

In store only. Call and ask.

I got another e-mail this morning that said these were back in stock, in store only, same price. I guess it was a popular promotion!

Where's the other 2 cores???

Laughing

Nice price actually. If that things OC's, it should be a screamer with 6MB L2.

I have the e6850, which is the same speed and fsb, but with 4MB cache... And still sells for way more. I'd be interested in checking one of these out, as the e6850 rocks. Too bad I spent so much on computer junk lately. But, at least the new laptop should show up today! Grin

So... let's just say I wanted to go with this CPU. Any mother board recommendations?
