Alright Gals & Guys.........it look as tho the "Gods" have seen fit to allow me to purchase a new inkjet in the next few weeks.

I have been partial to Epson printers in the past but I would not exclude a printer from HP or Canon.

My budget is $400.

Archival quality is a must and 6 ink preferable.

I'm just starting my research and thought I'd ask for sugestions. Confused

I'm no printer expert, but I would get the best Epson photo printer I could afford.

I've always used Epsons, and that looks like a nice one.
epsons are subject to some print head clogging.
Using genuine ink (or high quality aftermarket) printing something the uses at least some of every color at least once a week, and keeping the printer in the coolest spot in the office avoids most of the problems.
Never run the print head dry or leave an empty cartridge in place (keep at least one set of spares on hand) and it will print well for years.

I've got the Canon 960i and it does incredible prints. Definetly PQ and is 6 ink tanks. Think you can get it around $250, maybe $199 can't remember what I paid for it.

I went to a local camera store (think...Nikon Coolpix 5700) and they had an Epson r300 for $199.00 that looks interesting, 6 ink, borderless printing, CD printing...........

(BTW I did a price compairison, for the three items I'm looking at, Camera/Batt pack/1gig CF card---store = $1259.85 + tax.............NewEgg = $1053.00 NO tax/ship chgs)(the differance could pay for the R300 printer)

What to do??? What to do???

(Oh yeah.....the camera has a $150.00 rebate)
