Anyone know of a source for cheap DC actuators?

Like this:

http://www.firgelliauto.com/product_info.php?cPath=77&products_id=4

I need about 18" stroke, but not much force and nothing fancy really. Would like something faster than the 1/3" per second speed shown above too... maybe 1-2" per second.

Or perhaps other cheap ideas for raising something lightweight for a mod idea... Grin

Bumping this old thread as I would like to do this project!

Basically, It would be an old fashioned upright desk (with the door that flips down for writing), modded into a pc center.

A mini pc would be hidden in the base with books, etc... A wireless keyboard / mouse would be in the flip down desk area... And an LCD monitor would be mounted to the back of the desk. The actuators (or whatever I can find) would raise the monitor up over the back for viewing, and be hidden away when not in use.

So, the desk will still look like an ordinary piece of wood furniture, but it will be home to a pretty nice PC.
