Yea a message board would probably get you pretty much what you want to be able to do. If you only want to keep project status and notes updated. If you're looking for something to give you a timeline Project is the best way to go, I know there's several others out there but can't recall them right now.
Also, if you're looking for a way to collaborate on files, tasks, etc. MS has a nice system out for Office 2003, I think it's called OneNote or something else. Again, another fairly expensive package though. |
