Hopefully you don't mean the gas stations... I know a guy locally (TN) that owns a station and he makes $0.1 per gallon. One of the times I was there, he was on his way out to the sign to up it $0.3 because his supplier just upped his price.
My dad owned a station in the '70s and made $0.5 gallon, or at least thought he did...
