Thats pretty much what I did..had spare parts and have put together a HTPC. Don't have a tuner card yet, but I'm just gonna use it to watch the DVD and HD rips, listen to music and probably watch shows via Hulu. I'm using Thermaltake's DH101 HTPC case for it and it comes with iMon and iMedianHD that while a little finicky is working pretty well.
