OK - I had made a simple fan page and shared the link - but then I saw how to make a business page, and made one of those. Luckily no one has joined either yet  - so if you get the newsletter with a link to the "dead" fan page ignore it. I had also hidden the link in the first post in this thread, but it is deleted now.
