OK...so can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong? I made an image of the machine then started up a fresh Vista install. I wiped out the original Dell partitions and created a new one for the OS. As I remember the install disk recommended a partition size of at least 30GB...I chose 60 since I will be installing a lot of programs. Well after doing the install and updates the windows folder alone is over 17GB! Does this seem unusually large to anyone? I guess it doesn't matter much since I alloted 60GB but I just find it odd that already with the drivers and Vista..nothing else I am over 26GB. Just doesn't seem like 4GB would be enough for all other programs so I am wondering if there is something else in there I need to remove. I did format both partitions before installing so there shouldn't be an image of the previous install. Ideas? |
