I think the main problem with Vista is that is still carries a perception from people that it's a crap OS and it isn't as bad as people make it out to be any more. The service pack fixed a lot of problems and there are enough how-tos that you can tweak Vista to be very user friendly. I know that the main problem people have had was the UAC and that is able to be deactivated, along with a lot of the other unnecessary items on a default install, even though it's not recommended. THe other problem was a lack of drivers and that can still be the case, especially with older hardware, like my SB Live! card. Oh well, such is life. Obviously, my card was outdated.

If you haven't moved from XP to Vista yet, you may as well wait for Win7, and if you're considering a new PC, I suggest Vista.
