Microsoft has been getting pickier about validating copies of XP that are reinstalled on another board. I have several legal copies from XP home to XP Pro and one Vista Ultimate.
The day they don't validate one of them I'll be looking at alternative methods of validation. IMO I was nice enough to buy it when there were alternatives, I should be able to use it when I upgrade my Mobo. They might not see it that way but I went through 3 Mobo in a year and I'll be darned if I'm going to buy XP 3 times to feed my hardware habit. |
I am one who is very software challenged.....what do you mean by "slipstreaming"? Also the idea of a license per mobo is that they are not looking at the "enthusiast" but some one who may be trying to load on more than one computer. However I agree about the greed part when it comes to reinstalls! _________________ As of 02/01/11
