I now have a near identical RAID array in my new P4 system... Lets compare... 
AMD XP2800+ with (2) 40GB Maxtor Plus 8's in RAID 0 on a ATA-100 Promise card... 52383 kB/s on the Sandra File System Benchmark
Intel P4 2.6C with (2) 40GB Maxtor Plus 8's in RAID 0 on a ATA-133 Silicon Image card... 64740 kB/s on the Sandra File System Benchmark
This thing is going to make a good gaming rig! Just need a better video card... Has nothing on it but an OS and Virus Scan... all the work will be done on the XP machine... |
