Well... I got motivated and downloaded the new (CD) version. Back up and running with the system even quieter, and hooked up to the Power Angel.
Apparently full steam ahead only draws 176W! Not bad. I could probably improve that greatly without hurting performance by pulling the video card and 4 of the 6 (2.6V) DDR sticks. It has 4GB installed, 2x 1GB and 4x 512MB... the four little sticks might take a hike.
Even now... 176W is about 64 cents per day.
Just checked my latest electric bill and it is formatted different than I remember. There is a generation service fee of $0.099351/KWH and a delivery fee of $0.052556/KWH! Wow... 15 cents per KWH?!? |
