My guess is your system isn't a good candidate for over clocking. Normally to get even mild results, and still maintain a stable system, you need to build your system with some OCing in mind. That means the CPU (which you got), an after market cooler (which you don't have), high quality RAM capable of being OC'd (questionable here), a motherboard with at least some OCing ability (something ASRock's aren't known for), and a case with enough cooling to keep the CPU cool (unknown right now what you have).

To get a little more details on your system you can use this: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php which will give you a lot more information. Also make sure you download and run the Cache Latency Computation tool for more on your RAM.
