The eeepc is pretty cool. It's small and hard to use for an extended period of time, but for quick e-mail or web tasks it works ok. I'm not really thrilled with the keyboard, but for $400 what can you expect. I have WinXP installed and an 8gb SDHC card with 5 wmv movies on it at the moment, in preparation for a hockey road trip my son and I will be taking this weekend. It gets very good wifi reception and really is a very handy appliance. The XP install took about 1.2gb of the 4gb SSD so there is some room left over for other apps if I decide to install them. I also bumped the memory up to 2gb and use a program called eeeclock to overclock it to 900Mhz (the designed speed of the processor) and it is reasonably snappy. It boots winxp in about 30seconds and xandros even quicker (although xandros only recognizes 1Gb of ram unless you install a hacked kernel)
Glad to hear Newegg is stepping up and making things right, they really are a great company. _________________
